'The Stand' by Stephen King || spoiler-free review

It has everything. The Mother Abigail chapter was my favorite. It felt like reading a fairy tale

‘IT’ was the first King book I ever read, and I avoided his books for years after because it didn’t resonate with me. So glad I picked up The Stand later after hearing it was his best work. Stand blows ‘IT’ away in every capacity for me, from the flow to the character development, but I grant it’s probably a lot harder to flesh out memorable characters writing mainly about children: just my 2 cents

First time to your channel, and I loved your review. I am about a quarter of the way through my third reading of The Stand and was curious to hear others’ thoughts on YouTube. I couldn’t agree more; Randall Flagg is a phenomenal villain. I just finished the Dark Tower series and wanted to spend more time with “the man in black”. If you have not read the Dark Tower series, I couldn’t recommend it more. Another 5000 pages with the Dark Man! The first book is…well….not good, but it the remainder of the series makes the slog well worth it.

I’ve read either 8 or 9 SK books since last year but not this one yet. I checked out the uncut hardcover from the library and it’s a monster. May either read that one next or the dead zone.
