To all those who wonder why the singer sold this song to YG -
She was a pretty famous singer from UK by the name Natalia Kills.
She became a judge on X-factor New Zealand and got involved in an incident where she overreacted and humiliated a contestant.
Since then the public boycotted her completely, making her change her name and barely release any music ever since.
She made a huge mistake back then and she is responsible for it, therefore she can’t escape the consequences of her actions.
I guess she mostly writes for others now. At least it’s good that BLACKPINK got this great song!

saw the thread on this on twitter. and damn the original is really something. it hits differently in a way i can't explain. The feels is just so on point. She is not just singing it. Its like the whole song is her mantra. Proving to everyone that the best revenge to the ones who hurt her is her happiness.

I cannot stop listening to the BP's version, to the point that I had to find the name who wrote the lyric and made the music (coz it's soooo different from typical YG's songs) and I found Teddy Sinclair.
