Hello Kyle, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review of my portfolio. I'm glad I finally had time to sit down and watch this video. I really enjoyed it and have a few thoughts to share...
1) The overwhelmingly kind comments here really make me feel good. (Thanks, everyone, you are too kind! It really does mean a lot and is what fuels me!)
2) You bring up a valid criticism that I may not have enough forward-looking growth companies. Something that's been on my mind and I need to think through more. (Although, I'm thinking right now that companies like JNJ should bring both disruptive growth and stability.)
3) JNJ and PEP: Doesn't get better than these! I'm buying both here too, my two favorite positions of all time.
4) FUN: I absolutely love your point on the value of their land. Before the pandemic when their business was actually functioning, I always had in the back of my mind that there may be a higher and better use of their real estate. Locally here in the Bay Area, they now own the land under California's Great America (Santa Clara), which is tremendously valuable land for houses and condos (if they ever wanted to go that direction).
5) Regarding oil, I actually bought some more recently at these crazy low levels. It is a riskier area of the portfolio, but also it's only ~2.2% of the portfolio by dollar value. Agree it carries risk.
6) Regarding my real job, I'm actually a commercial real estate developer and a corporate marketing professional. My area of focus is building and bringing self storage facilities to market.
7) Regarding OTIS and CARR, those have surely impressed me. I have owned UTX for many years. They ended up merging with Raytheon (becoming RTX) and then spinning off OTIS and CARR. So, I've technically owned OTIS and CARR for quite some time, under the UTX umbrella (when their used to be a UTX).
8) AAPL: You got it right, I don't like the low current yield. Also, I get concerned about their concentration of revenue on a single product (iPhone). That said, I love them and I probably should have a tech stock like AAPL higher up on my list in terms of allocation.
9) WMT: Movie theaters in the parking lots? Say what!? That is AMAZING!
10) Sin Stocks: Could not agree more on all your points.
Thanks again for your honest review of my portfolio. Sometimes, it's difficult to watch someone else critique your life's work (literally spent my entire adult life building this portfolio), so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleased with the balanced view and I took a few notes as I'm always looking to optimize and improve. Wishing you all the best, my friend! Thanks, again! (Disclosure: I am long JNJ, PEP, FUN, OTIS, CARR, RTX, AAPL, WMT, and all the stocks in my portfolio shared in the video.)

I heard a lot of terms used in this video like "sentiment" "short/near term" "dial down the timeframe". I picked up on these because PPCIan (of whom I am a fan ) is all about long term investing. CAGR is the name of the game over long term horizons. So PPCIan's picks are not for people who base decisions on the short term sentiments of an inefficient market (speculators). It is for people with a 5-10+ year horizon and adopt a cumulative/compounded annual growth rate ethos to investing.

I did not know his portfolio was public, thanks for the info. PPCIAN always brings us newer investors back to reality with proof of what works over the longterm

Cedar Fair is great! We live an hour away from Cedar Point in Ohio. Their parks are fantastic.

Thanks for putting this deep dive together. There are a lot of great dividend stocks on this listing. Keep up the great work and keep on spreading the word of, and analyzing, dividend stocks!

the best way to describe Ian is that he has a very conservative approach in some regards to his portfolio. Extremely defensive, and I think this pandemic has shown how consumer categories have held up. He's a great resource to follow for those new to the dividend investing game. Some of my best positions were influence by his work, my positions in sin stocks, abbvie, realty income corp, BMO. I don't feel the same in regards to the oil industry, wells fargo or ibm, I'm ok with picking different positions from those. I think it's interesting to see someone build a portfolio like this without heavy use of the technology sector, i don't think its a large allocation of his portfolio.

I really liked how you showed his cash flow based on sector very interesting to see. I own a few of the sin stocks but am hesitant to get into oil. Also need to look into some of the other utilities that he has besides PPL

You are focusing on short-term capital gain? Well, PPCIan does not care about this at all. And you cannot judge the performance of his stocks if you do not know his cost basis. Only looking at Year-to-date performance is a silly way to criticize those stocks as he has been investing for many years.

Very well diversified! I have been meaning to set up some DRIPs with auto buys to just set them and forget them.

Interesting . Altria (MO) I picked up . Marathon Patent Group (MARA)
& Riot Blockchain Inc. (RIOT) are two stocks that will do well in the
financial uncertainty of the present . Riot Blockchain will raise the
hash rate capacity to 1.45 EH/S by early 2021 .

Yep, have been following PPC Ian's portfolio for quite a while. A little on the "conservative side" for my tastes, minus of course the "dinosaur juice" part of it. Consumer staples, yes I like them and have them but very uninspiring, nor (high dividend paying). One BIG major factor to take into account is this whole investing thing is your age. No, hes not ancient but over 40 or 50 years young and definitely you should be shifting your allocations, so to me he's looking right on point in that aspect. Great vid, -Cheers
