The Syrian refugee crisis has brought nearly 500,000 school-aged children into Lebanon, making it the country with the highest number of refugees per capita. This dramatic surge in population is placing strains on the country’s resources and ability to provide basic services, such as education, to both host and refugee communities. In this context, the Lebanese Ministry of Education in partnership with the World Bank have designed a Program for Results (PforR) to leverage results-based financing to increase access to education services, improve the quality of those services, and strengthen the country systems’ resilience to shocks. Sonia Khoury, the Director of Reaching All Children with Education (RACE) Program Management Unit, is featured in this video.
