I’m in love with this watch #Sinn556aRS and I decided to give it a nice watch winder for the rare occasions I’m not wearing it. I’ve already many watch winders of my design made by me using #arduino stepper drive and 3D printed parts.

For this one I wanted something to match with the “cosmopolitan” style of the #Sinn. A pilot watch makes me think to planes, long journeys all over the world, so I decided to use the metal cans of the #Illy Arabica Selection line, in which each can is from a different Country. The metal can is matching the steel of the case and the red of the #3DPrinted parts is a match both with the Illy logo and the red second hand that is peculiar to the RS model.

This is just the 1st prototype, it is powered by #seeduino #RP2040 using parts printed with #AnkerMake M5 #3DPrinter. This is just a test to check dimensions and the overall concept, next one will be more refined. The back carrier can also accept #ArduinoNano Every or other nano boards, it is just more cabling and modification to the ULN2003A board (remove headers) that drives the 28byj-48 stepper.

There is an on/off switch and it is possible to choose between 650 TPD both directions or 800 TPD clockwise, this will cover the majority of the movements I have.
