Unexpected Rules Mormon Women Have To Follow

preview_player
Показать описание
Mormonism is often thought of by people outside the church as a kind of "Christianity, with quirks." And some of those quirks can sound like pretty conservative rules, especially when it comes to the role of women. But in practice, how far do these "rules" really go?

#Mormon #Women #Rules

Biblically-defined roles | 0:00
No leadership positions in church | 1:40
Marriage is a must | 3:17
Abortions are a no-no. Mostly | 4:31
Modesty is key | 5:01

Why in the world do you show FLDS in this video? They are NOT a part of the “Mormon” church

Dude first you need to know the difference between the LDS and flds witch you are showing. I am not LDS but I am married to a LDS and even I know who the crazy are and the normal church

This isn’t an accurate account of the LDS church. It might be the FLDS but the two sects are not the same.

Everyone should have the right to express themselves without fear of judgment or violence.

Born into Mormonism in the state known for this cult. Grew up with THE CHURCH (local ward house) the community center for both Sunday activity and weekday activities. All the sacred documents of Mormonism has been read (cover to cover) multiple times. Temple attendance occurred frequently and with measured regulatory. For fifty years THE CHURCH was central in life lived daily. For twenty two years has freedom been achieved from the mind dominion of THE CHURCH! What a relief!

Not a true video. Should have done more research prior to popping out content.

Google said it. Must be true. 🙄🤦‍♀️ I mean, you say this info is from the church’s website but…I’d like to see where. Because I’m very familiar with it and I don’t recall much of any of this. Unless you got the wrong website, which would explain all the footage from a different church.

Ummmm, as an actual "Mormon" woman, I'm confused by your video. The errors are too numerous to list them all... however, I have questions: Why are you showing footage of polygamists, fringe members, former members, non-members... and stock footage? Mormons aren't polygamists and polygamists aren't Mormons. (And "Mormons" are Latter-day Saints.) Why make a video about Latter-day Saint women- which features no Latter-day Saint women? You obviously did not bother to consult even one believing Latter-day Saint woman. We're your neighbors, we're your co-workers. Why did you quote fringe websites, and then mangle our actual doctrines and beliefs in order to make a video about it? To what end? Try asking one of us next time (there are over 7 million of us.) We can speak for ourselves-- and we can wear pants to church. 🙄 Try again, bro. This makes me question the accuracy all of your other videos.

Hmmm, this sounds like the Church from the 1950's Salt Lake. The graphics team needs to be taken to task for using extreme images from polygamy sects that do not represent the LDS Church, it's very misleading and disappointing.

i live in Pennsylvania, and a 19 year old co-worker told us she has to move to Idaho for the next 18 months and isn't allowed to hold a job during that time, as she must focus on the church. She's a good kid. I hope she figures out her own path before it's too late.

The FLDS videos prove that you did little to no research. Taking a couple of sentences out of context and stating them as fact is equally unethical. If you intended to prove the falsehoods of the FLDS group, there is no shortage of those you call Mormon who would not only agree with you, but also be more educated as to the dangers of following the distorted teachings of Warren Jeffs. As it appears you are conflating the two groups, this video is full of falsehoods. Kinda ironic, considering that the goal was to “expose” the “false doctrine” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dude, you clearly don't know the definition of the word "rules." And the LDS Church does not use the cross as a religious symbol.

Other than the mix up with the flds you showed these rules are pretty much right on with abortion being a strict no and the sisters especially the sister missionaries being taught how to sit, dress and even pick up something off the ground without being “ seductive”. The haters in the comments just don’t like a bright light being turned on a dark place.

I have a soft spot for Mormons due to the fact that my high school teacher and middle school principal are both Mormons.

Gimme the thumbs up if you giggle every time the LDS rolls thru your neighborhood.
