Does Adagio for strings by Samuel counts as modern classical music? Great List, keep it up!

Unpopular opinion: Ravel is underrated af. There are so much more beautiful and great Ravel's music like Daphnis et Chloe, or even Valses nobles et sentimentales. But they don't seem to be getting the attention they deserve... I mean, I think that the 'Lever du jour' from 'Daphnis et Chloe' is the most beautiful piece ever written!

Idk if Satie is modern; I think he is technically still in the romantic period ( at least when the Gymnopedie was composed) but his style is definitely more modern.

I can't believe that Rachmaninov and Scriabin are not on the list at all. But one can call "modernism" whatever he likes. Or maybe they are not so popular as I thought. Anyway, they definitely represent quality. :-)

Impressionism still belongs to Romanticism for me (we simply learned at school that it is a late Romantic period), which is why I would like to hear more modern music that doesn't belong to Impressionism 😅

I'd have to play more modern pieces, but as I said, most of them still belong to the Romantic period for all the instrumental teachers and music teachers here

Ravel is definitely rolling in his grave over Bolero being so popular 😅.
