You can’t make a keyboard without them, I hope they get talked about again.

Because so many switches are super similar now these days that it really doesn't make sense to spend a ton of money on them anymore. Custom mechs are headed to the mainstream now, and I think it's a good thing for pricing and accessibility. I'm sure a lot of people hate that their hobby is no longer as exclusive though.

I love when keyboard videos talk about everything that a switch looks like but doesnt mention what kind of switch it is nor what it feels like outside of a generic description of smooth

i made frankenswitches on my plateless build and they completely changed the sound profile of the board, switches really can be a big deal

In my opinion, people talk way too much about switches already, so many of them are so similar it barely even makes a difference, when the keyboard itself makes a much bigger difference. Also factory lube on something like a gateron pro is solid enough already it isn’t even worth hand lubing them

I use the same keyboard it’s really nice! But I still care about switches because I think I want to go from sky cyan switches to cherry blue clicky switches

PLEASE TALK ABOUT SWITCHES. I think the difference between Total Travel Time is such an important thing to talk about because it affects typing/gaming so much.

My favorite switches are a popular choice, Gateron milky yellows and I like them cause they are not very expensive and they are linear

For me, they are one of not the most important part between a keyboard feeling and sounding good. So I hope they get tested more and talked about more. Otherwise, keyboard talk feels like there is always just the same information to me

I agree, I have RKH81 with box stem version of these sky cyans and ho boy, after lightly lubing them, they are amazing. Springs are dual stage and feel great too.

for anyone that bought/is buying this keyboard, it may come with a chattering problem as mine did when I bought it

Stock switches are great, but once you go down the frankenswitch rabbit hole there's no going back, my current favourite is gat ink black stems in tecsee ice milk housings with the spring from the ice milk. Buttery smooth and deep as hell, i call them riceballs.

Edited for spelling.

It is very cool that you are able to do these things for all your viewers too watch. I wish that I was able to buy cool keyboards like that.

i use gateron g pro 3.0 yellows in my board atm, which is the latest version of the yellow switch and feels really smooth to the press.
