I have the same on my Hyundai Santa Fe and I can assure you it’s a rubbish feature that I have turned off and never use. Because, every time I walk round the back of my house I need to go past the back of my car and the boot opens unless I move extra quick. I would rather the foot thingy

It's great when your hands are full, but annoying when you are approaching the car from the back, and if you are too slow, the trunk starts to open.
And beeping soung on Sportage is annoying, and I can't find a way to turn it down or turn it off.

This is less useful than a foot activated tailgate. As you basically have too brush right up against it and it takes a good few seconds too activate, where as foot activated tailgates are instant.

Crap, you get drowned in the rain by the time that thing opens, plus like the vw buzz when that thing's loaded up with a family and all the gear it would need recharged as soon as it leaves the garage 😊
