Unit Guide: Bullfrog | Red Alert 3

Continuing our Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Beginner's Guide series, we are taking a look at the Soviet KDB-2 Bullfrog. Bullfrog Transport is an amphibious anti-air vehicle / ship. They are the most reliable air defense in the game, as they can kite / chase Vindicators while moving freely around. Their special ability is to Man Cannon their passengers to a long distance away, where the launched infantry slowly parachute down to the ground.

Bullfrog can combo with Bears or Tesla Troopers by launching them directly onto the enemy army, where they can use Roar / EM Disruptor to stun enemy units (without needing to first approach them). The twin-frog combo is also infamous for their synergy, as Bullfrogs fend off enemy fighter aircrafts while Twinblades outmaneuver / overwhelm ground AA before harassing harvesters. There is also a cheese strategy on Cabana Republic involving launching an Engineer & Flak Troopers to build a highground Battle Bunker.

Meanwhile me I just constantly force attack hammers on newly made bullfrogs and making said bullfrogs drive into the grinders of the construction crane to easily give the hammer tanks the flak cannon.

Its one way to effectively give the allies a giant headache even though hammers are very slow they can still fire the flak cannon on the move and have very high HPs

Good lord whenever you publish a new unit guide I learn like 30 new things and shit bricks at the same time! Using the launch emblem to scope for buildings in fog of war is insane, launching units past capacity and toggling unit abilities post parachute for the very frame that they land is insane, I didn't realize bullfrog was just insane😭

Bullfrog greatness aside, I had not realized the VX splash damage was so good, its slow speed tends to frustrate me, so this knowledge brings it back into favor to me. VX has its limitations, but it truly is trying its best.

A missing keypoint on Bullfrog's perk is that it can be produced simultaneously on both Soviet War Factory and Soviet Naval Yard, whilst also amphibious. Meaning comparing to other two faction, Soviet T1 AA Vehicle have the highest production rate, and can be switched from AA ground unit duty to AA naval unit duty and vice versa.

That's really awesome and creative unit, but sad there no normal exit.

The key reason is because it has Flak damage which deliver the damage almost instantly and guaranteedly unlike Rocket damage which has travel time and will be outrun if enemies are too fast or using their speed boost early this mean only Bullfrogs and Flak defence are able to take down Artemis Bombers in such mod like Epic War.

I never thought about Bullfrog can attack while moving at the same time, even though I'm using them to against units like Harbinger Gunship and Giga Fortress all the time. Star leveled bullfrogs are indeed scary....
