This started as a look inside video but turned into a repair video midway. I've left it mostly uncut (which is why it's so long) so you can see how I worked through opening the case without damage since this radio has a rather interesting interior construction.

Great video..thank you!..Bought this radio in the late 90's, rarely used it and it ended up in the drawer..fast forward 30 years and decided to take it along while RVing.
Wouldnt turn on initially then found if i used headphones and jiggled the plug it worked...took radio apart, sprayed headphone jack but still intermittent. Finally resoldered the headphone jack to the pc board and was repaired...works well on FM and SW but man its aweful on AM!..Whistles, drifts and not sensitive at all.
Any recommendations for a newer style radio like this?...love the compact design and features buts its going to Salvation Army!

Good video although I was mainly watching it to see how you sprayed contact cleaner on the volume switch. I have the very same radio and the volume switch contacts can use some spray cleaning, and I was wondering if the chassis has to be pulled from the front cover to access the volume switch contacts or if they can be cleaned by just removing the back cover.

I  have the same radio... was in storage, and left out in the car for quite some time... tried to play it last night, the clock is working but no radio signal.... have put in new batteries ( looks like there was some leakage)... do you know, if it picked up some moisture, is it all over till someone can fix it.... or, hopefully might work again, if it is allowed to dry out inside the house ? Don't need the clock at all, but it's a very handy little radio... was pleased I was able to learn more about it online. Don't think I'd want to take it in for an expensive repair...probably cheaper just to buy another one on Bay.

I have the same radio was working fine all of a sudden it just died. Checked the batteries they are okay, any suggestions. Thanks
