Love your ideas! I've recently thought I'd like to create a small business recycling clothes. I sew and see so many interesting fabrics, buttons, trims, etc in thrift shops. I enjoy dissembling items that, for whatever reason, don't work as they are and putting the pieces together into something entirely different - wearable art!

What a joy to see your delight in those lovely clothes Margaret 💐I loved the happy energy you shared with the turquoise sweater with the sparkles and ribbons. I enjoy your videos here on Saturday mornings and feel as if I’m having tea and a really sincere cosy chat with a friend 😁 also love the comments from this so supportive and wise community - have a lovely day everyone and wear your favourite thing today, whatever it is....because why not? 😉

I live in the mountains in the summer, and I just did a clear out of my wardrobe and gave them lots of nice things. It’s a thrift store for seniors. It’s very inexpensive and it has a lot of goodies in there. I donate to them.

GoodWill, Salvation Army, Value Village are all places I shop. I have a box for resonating as I buy. I find I live in blue jeans, or black pants and tee shirts. Scarves are a perfect addition for tee shirt necklines which aren’t complimentary for me.

I have repurposed two long broomstick type skirts that I no longer was wearing by making scarves from them. Both had a beautiful design along the hemline so I cut the bottom 6 inches off the skirt, sewed a hem on the raw edges and use them as scarves.

One of the favorite fashion hunts happen at thrift shops. I love finding great things I can put together that I have found in charity ( thrift shops). I also donate my clothes to these shops. Nothing better than recycling without breaking your budget. Sandra

Good afternoon Margaret, thoroughly enjoyed the oh so practical tips about customizing our new or preloved clothing bargains. Like Suzi Grant I am blessed by living in Brighton too where we never have to buy brand new clothes, so many deserving lovely charity shops. I recently found a beautiful Joules rain jacket for just £4... can you believe ! Several girlfriends get together twice a year for a huge clothes swap evening where we all manage to take something "new" home with us. The items left over are duly passed on to local charity shops. It's a Great fun evening out for us all. Xx

I really enjoy seeing people do creative things with their clothing. There is an older gentleman on FB who wears outrageously clever well coordinated outfits in vivid colors. He looks so interesting.
Finding quality things to recycle and embellish is a passion for me.

I wish I could join you for tea today, as you’re enjoying spring. It’s snowing a bit here this morning in my Colorado mountain town. 😑 I just have to comment on your lovely necklace, such a unique statement piece! Love it!

Love your idea of adding sparkle buttons and putting the plunging v-neck in back. Very kool. Goodwill, St. Vinnie's, Salvation Army are favorites of mine. Love finding jackets to accent an outfit. Great subject and ideas Margaret. Thank you.

There are physical stores called Savers (in Canada its Value Village) but my absolute favorite shop for vintage or unique gently worn clothes is a website called ThredUp. They also provide a postage paid bag for you to send them your clothes to resell (though they pay you very little for them).

I am not a gal for ruffles & bows, but bring on the sparkle! Love my sparkle.

The embellished sweaters are absolutely adorable. I like how you've styled your hair and eyes. And, that necklace is adorable. I'm only now in the process of de-cluttering so I need to stay away from thrift stores but I admire people who have the imagination and creativity to make something unique. Great tips and great video.
