Poor Eichhorst, he so badly wanted to kill Palmer and hated him, now he have to look at that face forever. Anyways Eldritch becomed to greedy but his Main error was to become arrogant and thinking to outsmart an elder vampire Master that was allready playing games wirh humanity thousends of years before he was even born

The TV show differs from the books and has some inconsistencies.
Normally it takes one full day till the host develops the stinger and has it's brain turned and one week till all internal organs have changed.
In the final episode there where maybe 2 hours at max between Palmers infection and when Eph & Abraham confronted him but he already had a stinger there.
