All I care about is performance and reliability, I have my own encryption, password protection and backup software. Toshiba runs hotter because the drive is from ibm originally. Toshiba bought out a drive series that had a G-d awful failure rate. It is called, among us techs the 'DeathStar"...and I don;t mean that in a good way.

I use WD external HDD passport to see films and movies on my LED and LCD google 4k tv. I dont like watching on computer or laptop. I have 2tb, 1 tb, 3 tb, 4tb and 5 tb. My 4tb freezes films sometimes. When i restart it then it works ok but sometimes freezes. Whats the reason?
