What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly - Richard Bach "Illusions". That episode of television was quite literally, unbelievable.

whats beautiful is the arc, man. Think about it; Julie Mao was an Earther who died trying to save Belters. Miller? A Belter who laid down his life defending Earth.
Yes.

I wept like a baby.

just to clear up since everyone reviewing gets these relative numbers wrong: books (which the producers, as they have said, closely follow) say: 30 billion people on earth living on basic support (food, water, net access), 4-5 billion on mars (almost fully employed in the terraforming project), 50-100 million in the belt trying to get by, and around 10-20 million living around the outer planets. so, if you were an alien ..."thing".... and you clearly needed biomass for something, were would you prefer to go? definitely agree that this is probably the best sci-fi show of modern times. and since I`ve read the books I won`t spoil whether miller`s dead, but I`m really enjoying all the theories of the reviewers.

I haven't been as saddened and jaw dropped since the 7th episode of gurren lagann that rocked the anime world back in 2007.

Or the red wedding at GoT.

I see the way that she accepted miller was a big boost to stockers everywhere. ;)

I intentionally stopped reading the first book, because the show was such a hit for me. I am looking to be surprised! My prediction is that Julie and Miller morph into a protormolecal being that has the memories of both, but is a totally alien species.

You know - This adaptation is amazing. And just one thing. Avasarala. I'm thinking she's way better recieved and beloved than she was meant to be as a character. Like her surroundings hate her in-story, but the viewers love her because she swears and cuts off important politicians mid-speach telling them to get to the fucking point and all that.

Anyway. It's hard to describe exactly who she is. But you have to put these moments like pictures up on a wall and they tell you who Chrisjen Avasarala is.

Chrisjen Avasarala tortures belter prisoners to get information out of them.
She also plays with her grandkids and tickles them and she loves her husband and family.
Chrisjen Avasarala is rude, potty-mouthed, unbending and uncompromising.
She also dances the nuanced and fragile, graceful dance of UN high politics.
She is out to stop corruption, greed and simple stupidity before it could escalate a war into genocide. She also has no trouble publicly burning down a family's name, freeze the finances of a Buddhist monk and drag innocent children through the dirt to punish their father.
Chrisjen Avasarala stays in her office as a last man standing, video calling her husband as an asteroid is falling from the sky to her world, because her home is threatened.

Christian was saying goodbye to her husband.  In a way, she is giving up, considering that she would know that the people causing the trouble already left and will survive.

The Expanse is by far the best show on TV right now. So glad the effort to save it paid off.

Interesting that they chose to skip over some of the gruesome details that were in the books, that kinda highlighted how important it was that they stop the protomolecule because while it can be beautiful, it is also foreign and horrifying. The closest we got was a grasping protomolecule hand, some mutated bodies, and the comment that the people of Eros' biomatter is making up the inside of Eros. Disturbing, but not necessarily as much as a headless, legless torso dragging itself across the floor with a single arm, or a bunch of severed hands skittering around like spiders. Admittedly, I can see why they'd leave it out - it would have made Miller's meeting with Julie a lot less emotional and a lot creepier, but it was an interesting choice.

Looks like next week we're getting to the Ganymede incident! Fun times ahead! :D

I think the way the made miller breathe in the proto molecule SO obviously means Miller isn't dead... he will be back somehow and it will be because of the proto molecule

Like you recaps. Just one thing...it's not "Ah-mus" its "A-mos" with a sharp A. They pronounce his name almost every episode. And I agree with you...this episode is some amazing sci-fi. Looking forward to your theory vid, I have a few of my own I'll add to those comments.

the Expanse is without a doubt the Holy Grail of Science Fiction TV! Season 3 Is not a done deal..The Expanse team at SyFy Is asking fans to remember to go to Rotten Tomato`s Imob Amazon ect..and rate and review!! The next couple weeks ratings and reviews might be the difference between a S3 or no S3!! EVERYBODY knows SYFY has broke our SciFI hearts before! Its time to let @SyFy know that this show IS the MASTERPIECE we have waited so long for! For anyone who hasnt read the books I will only say that there is more left to this story than you can imagine!! Great video couldnt agree more with you!!

Miller and Julie and all the people of Eros are still alive all the clues are there. They are going to give power to the OPA because of who they are and they are going to bring the system together. It's going to be so amazing. You are right that this is a perfect episode of television that I believe makes TV history and will be remembered forever and will inspire generations to come just like Star Trek but even more as the social media and sharing of the info hyping it up will make the ratings go up more than Star Trek was at first like you said the show isn't going anywhere anytime soon. For sure. Totally on point about the protomolecule. It's going to see how Mars responds to the Roci now that they are out of the closet you know Earth will have their backs because they saved the planet and risked their lives doing it... and Mars could support them if they had another Martian to serve on board and another OPA person to serve on board the ship could begin a system alliance for the purpose of working together to fight and find out about the protomolecule. The moments between Avasurala and Holden was so epic and makes me think of the emotional scene between his mom and her in the first season. Oh it was so great so much to talk about and we will be talking about it for generations to come. Millions of us are on the edge of our seats with what's going to happen and like I said, this is going to inspire a generation to come. Every station we need to build, all the ships in the show we need to build but we need to learn from the show and stay united. As an anthropologist I love the differences between the cultures in the show and like to think of diplomatic solutions like all members of the system have to spend time in all planets and places where there is a planet or station, moon exc. and there could be a human rights law that says any pregnant woman can give birth on Earth and can live with their child to the age of ten years old to help fight low gravity. Having the rich have to participate in the work that the poor does and making people rich only if they do things to benefit humanity while having a positive system wide ecological impact. People who destroy nature and threaten the system will not be rewarded, they will be punished with economic sanctions as well as empathy integration therapies which we will develop. I love this show so so much. It's really really amazing and it inspires me and so many people and it is by far the most beautiful television show ever. Great video I love your analysis. I just subscribed and look forward to watching your other videos. Miller and Julie and the people of Eros are so so so not dead. They are going to have a lot of power and set up on Venus as well as elsewhere in the system. That's my prediction. I need to read the books.

Not a bad review, love the enthusiasm.

This is just a great show, and I hope it gets more love. Thankfully, Syfy is not actually bankrolling this series - its actually independent and the series owners have got Netflix as the distribution sponsor everywhere else other then Canada/USA and a couple of other markets.

So syfy does not control the destiny of this show although certainly they are an impt buyer of distribution rights.

Ok 8 minutes in and he is still talking. Omg it was an awesome scene and you drink in the visuals of the humanity of both people. Julie has evolved but isn't in control. This feels like replicator(von neumann tech. If anyone ever heard of the dark heart from the 2nd season of justice league. This isn't a weapon but some alien civilization's tools for building something. It needs living matter it is an imagination similar to 2001 space oddessy (an unknown alien influence and how science fiction can produce such a gripping story. I'm glad it isn't a doctor, cop, or legal drama like most of tv that's for sure.

Reviewer The best since "Battlestar Galactica" and "Stargate:Universe". Oh, the 'Seed Crystal' takes any kind of energy, so the plutonium is just sauce for the goose.

These ARE the best sci fi 40 minutes ever filmed. And I still haven't watched what happened after that. Yes! And you are comparing THIS to Game of Whores, that pop porn??? You know nothing, Jon Snow.
