Fix Red Light error - Nespresso Coffee Machine

Easy fix for your Nespresso Coffee Machine that is flashing red. Couldn’t find a fix so adding this one. You will need a q-tip and paper towels.

I re-use the pods with the silver seals you get off of Amazon. I got the red flashing light. I cleaned it, de-scaled it, cleaned with a q-tip. Still wouldn’t brew. I finally checked the pod I was using and the bar code had scrapes on it from me cleaning it. Changed to a newer pod and voilà. Fixed my problem. Thanks for all the useful tips. My problem ended up being my cheapskatedness.

just to let you know that the bottom ring sensor was the root cause of my problems after watching your video. i also tried cleaning top rings and nozzles and descaling but those aren’t root causes for me. thanks for your suggestion that saved my sanity and time.

Cheers! Mine had a red light on, and was wondering what to do! My other coffee machine (an automatic one) cleans itself before every coffee, which perhaps explains why it has never “failed”. I think from now on, I’ll run a cleaning cycle every few coffees on the Nespresso too. I got the first red light after about ten coffees. Thanks for sharing.

When you said, "Make sure it is spinning" that was my issue. I had to force it to spin and clean it up. All good.
