"They Max but they don't Trax"
Are these X bull recovery tracks a good option for you? They could be. Is there better? Sure. Do they hold up? Not really.

Karen video summary- Spun the tires fast enough to melt the tracks until they shot out the back like macaroni. Posted a passive-aggressive X-Bull bashing video because they will not send a new set under warranty. Considering how well the tracks hold up to abuse, I just ordered a set on sale for $75.

Have you done any SAND recoveries? Ice is pretty hard and we don’t get much ice in the Australian outback 😂

My humble opinion.
Recovery tracks, like all recovery gear. Isnt designed to last forever. Whatever the brand. For me, i just purchased 4 xbulls for less than half the price of 2 maxtraks. For a piece of equipment that is designed for a number of uses, its xbull everytime.

The composion of the board is uncertain they say reinforced but don't give the components, they say it's nylon... my research on nylon (zip ties) is when they get "dry" they become brittle when stored in a moist environment they rejuvenate. Winter is dryer than the summer due to moisture in the air condensateing. So it would be interesting to see if storing it in a plastic bag wetted with salt water rags might help (salt water has a lower freezing temp)

I bought a pair of these for... Honda Fit. I got tired of getting stuck in the snow.
I haven't used them yet but the first impression is that the plastic isn't very rigid.
I hope it's a good fit for the Fit but I would defo not use it in a vehicle twice the size or weight (Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Hilux, 4Runner etc)

The cold is a downfall on them but the price is on point and if I recover once they paid for themselves the way I look at it.
There are better brands but it’s better to have something than nothing if that’s what you can afford.

Thanks for the video I just bought some as well and we will see how they go. I think it the cold may be an issue but the customer service concerns me. Well the only thing I don't like is they don't stack flatter on my rack and cause a bit more noise. Well I guess like it's better to have the and not need them then need them and not have them even if just for one use 🌴🤙

Hi. Interesting vid, thanks. Do you think that maybe the tracks get brittle in the cold, like many plastics, and therefore more prone to cracking and splitting? What (ball-park) temperatures were they at when you deployed them, i.e. were they in the warmth of the vehicle or in the much colder bed of your truck just prior to your driving on them? Thanks again.

Were these Gen 2 or Gen 3? I bought a set of Gen 3 a couple months ago. Haven’t had to use them yet

Its not just you, i literally just used mine for the very first today and after one mud recovery using an average size 4x4 ended up with a 10inch split straight down the middle.. They are junk ...but they got me out of trouble i suppose.
