Have you ever wondered who's making all that noise? Chances are pretty good that it's our guinea fowl! Our helmeted guinea fowl roam the zoo in large groups and are hard to miss once they start calling.

I've got three guinea fowl visiting from my neighbours place, I played this for them and they absolutely lost their marbles. I'm in tears laughing

When you chase them, they sound like those rubber chickens getting squeezed all at once. It's a good time

They are really really funny birds. They love the chase-me game. If you chase them then turn and run theyll chase you right back. They arent mean like geese

The noise can be cumbersome but they are a great alarm system for predators (especially if you have other fowl). The young guineas are so cute 😊

0:12 close your eyes, and imagine a rusty wheelbarrow wheel going around....

Somebody described their alarm sound as a rusty trampoline spring... Very accurate.

Love guinea hens!!! Little alarm systems that double as exterminators that also look like Tammy Faye Baker in their face.

We Brazilians, speakers of Portuguese, not Spanish (very important), hear them saying, "I'm weak, I'm weak, I'm weak" ("Tô fraco, tô fraco, tô fraco"). Here, they are called "Angola hens" ("galinhas-d'Angola").

It's funny because we raise those in Romania too and the sound they make sounds like a word in romanian: 'păcat' (puh-kaht) which means sin😂
_I KNOW I'm a sinner, I don't need a bunch of birds to remind me-_ 😂

I have guinea fowls. All but one are quite quiet and peaceful.

The exception one makes alot of noise even at night.
The sound resembles the first sound on this clip.

What does this signify? Of whats wrong with that particular fowl?
Thanks in advance. John
