How good do you have to be to not only be able do such a complex move, but use it as a feint, and then land it in competition

Haha Shane was like, "that was a bad one?" Like it looked impressive to me...

People say that tricking in general does not work in a fight.

Okay.

First off: it's called TRICKING

Second: would you really come close to a guy who just almost hit you with a 540 kick? Because even intercepting the spin would hurt you

It's so cool that MMA fighters are getting confident enough with fighting fundamentals that they can realistically add moves like this to their game without just getting killed for trying 😂👍

This is exactly the fighting style I’ve been wanting to achieve! It’s definitely more demanding in terms of skill, physical ability, and timing, but there are so many combinations you can explore once you’ve got it down to second nature. Tricking is almost like the next level of kata: When you get your moves to flow as natural and smooth as breathing, you can bust out these combos at any given moment in a fight and surprise the fuck out of your opponent. The major thing that most TMAs lack is pressure testing, so they wind up trying these sorts of moves without practical experience and make total fools of themselves. Guys like Saenchai incorporate deceptive methods like this to devastating effect in his Muah Thai, knocking out guys twice his size due to specialized kicking fluidity. He so agile that he can stance dance and switch up his vector of attack on a dime, resulting in him being confusing as fuck and absolutely devastating when he lands. He’s already incorporated Taekwondo into his arsenal and I have no doubt that it and tricking has more to offer.

I’m having my first muay thai fight next month and was wondering if you had any tips how to prepare mentally

I feel like the 540 roundhouse should’ve been included in the list of prerequisites as it teaches you to really jump over your leg and turn your hip over, but a great tutorial by D-mah nonetheless!

It's a matter of time until video game moves come to MMA.
