Thank you so much for this video. Question. I have an EF SLR that the flash keeps going off without pressing the shutter button whenever I try to use a flash. I suspect that the wire going to the bottom of the hot shoe may be the problem (shorting out; weak solder connection, etc.). It appears from this video that the wire is full accessible (just in case I need to replace it). Am I seeing that correctly? It looks like it just goes around the edge of the top plate and is taped to the red wire?

The pulley/string system was a headache for me. And it has TWO strings, not just one!! The toshiba IC is very sensitive to static electricity... BEWARE!
