TRIP REPORT | Ultra-Long-Haul on Etihad A350! | Chicago to Abu Dhabi | ETIHAD Airways A350-1000

Etihad Trip Report flying from Chicago to Abu Dhabi onboard one of the Etihad Airbus A350-1000 on a lovely late-spring day.

A very comfortable flight from Chicago to Abu Dhabi on the Etihad's Airbus A350-1000. When doing the check-in I was offered to block the middle seat for a low extra amount... and the 14-hour flight to Abu Dhabi was much more comfortable.

We took off from Chicago heading to the east enjoying some amazing views of Chicago downtown. After some quick turns, we started our route to Abu Dhabi. We initially headed north towards Canada. We left Hudson Bay on our left as we flew towards the Labrador Peninsula. We entered the Baffin Bay and flew towards Greenland. The views of the frozen landscapes during the sunset were really amazing.

We continued towards Europe over the Atlantic, leaving Iceland on our left until we reached Norway. The sunrise started when entering Denmark and lasted for around 2 hours until we were over Slovakia. We continued over Hungary, Romania, the Black Sea, and Turkiye. We crossed the country and entered Iraq. From there we flew southbound until reaching Abu Dhabi for an on-time landing.

About the onboard service, there were 3 services on this flight: 2 full meals (dinner and breakfast) as well as a mid-flight snack. The meals were even better than expected. Full of taste and in a nice amount. Etihad has been raising the quality of their meals in recent years and they are clearly at the top in terms of taste and quality.
