This tutorial showed up in my YouTube feed about an hour after I purchased an annual subscription. Perfect timing, now I have a quick start on how to use Luminar for iPad. Thanks, extremely helpful!!!

I’ve been waiting for them to make this app for forever!

Hi Jim; Very instructional video, what a great into to this product. A question... if I edit a raw and then save (share) it, do I get another raw, a tif or a jpg? I'm not clear on the saved format. Thanks

Hey Jim how did you get the little red dot to show up as a cursor on the iPad portion? I couldn't figure out how to do that in my recording.

I follow you and from your early Neo videos, I have been a fan of Luminar Neo with a full subscription. Blown away how they have added so many great plug-ins. But, now I am really excited about the iPad version downloaded from your link. This will be a fun ride. Bring on your tutorials 😊

Lots of criticism on their forum. Pointed out that Lightroom has iPad app included in subscription. And that there are still plenty of issues with main program that need to be addressed. Like, how about a decent manual? I had days of frustration to get proper operation under Win11, and their "help"? Well it couldn't.

Is there a button for cancellation of previous action?

Hi Jim. Thanks once again for all your helpful info and hard work. Just a question, would this version of luminar mobile work well on earlier model ipads. ? Thanks

Downloaded the app last night. Just started using it, and am enjoying it so far. One thing I found wonkey, is the import of photos from Apple Photos. They are all put of order (chronologically). Trying to find a specific photo I want to edit, is challenging. Even if I know the date the photo was shot, because all photos imported in a random order, finding the photo is difficult and really time consuming!

Hi Jim, thanks for this update. Does this replace imgmi? I have been waiting for an iPad editor from Luminar for some time now. A while ago I started using ON1 Photo for my iPad and have found it pretty useful for quick edits. Obviously it does not have all of the tools available in Photo Raw 2024 but it does have masking in a limited capacity and it is easy to use. Wondered if you have had any experience with it?

Does the app has access to an external hard disk or SD-card to process DSLR photo's?

Very interesting. It has potential! I’d like to see some more of the features from Luminar Neo ported over. At some point I’d also like to see both this and Luminar Neo sync to a cloud service. I could see myself starting an edit on the go with my iPad and finishing up on desktop, but I don’t want to have to worry about moving files back and forth.

Thanks Jim
I tried the app and watched the video and tried app again.
I’m disappointed that it’s another subscription. If they want to stand out among the other mobile editors, another subscription plan is not the way to do it. I’ve been with Luminar for quite some time and have adjusted to some of their price changes, but I have been very frustrated too. I don’t think like you said this is any kind of a replacement for Lightroom mobile. The interface is cute but for me that doesn’t mean much.
So wish Luminar the best in their start up and hopefully some dramatic improvements to set them apart from all the other mobile editors. When I think about what Apple photos will do this, other than some of the AI is not special.
I’m not trying to be negative, but I was looking for something, that would completely amaze me not just offer me something less than or similar to something else

This would have been great for our recent Australia trip but I’m not willing to do subscriptions so guess I won’t be adding this.

Jim, great video. Is Luminar for iPad only for new iPads? I have an iPad Air 3rd edition. Does not seem to work on iPad.

This is very cool--thanks for the overview, Jim! Very creative and out-of-the-box thinking on the interface. I'll bet there are some Star Trek fans at Skylum! Doesn't Luminar have another app called Luminar Share? You should do a video showing how we can use these two apps together to shuttle images to and from our Luminar catalog. One question: will Luminar Neo subscribers have access to this app, or do we have to pay for another subscription?
