Shun Premier 4 Inch Paring Knife — Review and Information.

This is a video where I show off the Shun Premier 4" Paring Knife and explain its features.

Essentially, the Shun Premier is the "flagship" Shun line. It uses VG-MAX Steel (~61 Hardness) sharpened to a 16 degree angle. On top of that, it has 34 layers of steel folded on itself, giving it a beautiful damascus design. Finally, the upper 1/2 or so of the blade is hammered. The end result is a knife that truly is "premier."

It's a very quick video of the knife, just to give you an idea of what it looks like and what it is all about. Check out the video and let me know if you have any other questions.

NOTE: I'll be making quick videos showing all of the different knives and comparing the various lines of Shun to not only other brands, but each other as well!

from your video, yes, I can see the Miyabi Artisan pairing knife to be the way to go over Shun Premier, however, the Shun Premier Try Me pairing knife has a continued promo of only $69, half the price of miyabi. For pairing knife, would you say the Shun is good, probably yes for the money.
I went with Shun Premier Nakiri because of the 5 1/2" all others larger. But I will go Miyabi for Chef knife, I think 8" is the go to (its what I believe I have always been using in size), I wonder if the 9 1/2 slicing knife is needed is slicing steaks, Sri Tip, etc, or simply one of the other knives

Have you had any problems with the blade developing rust?
