Japanese PM Abe says he wants to normalize relations with North Korea

아베, 북한과 국교 정상화 목표 밝혀

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says his administration wants to normalize relations with North Korea... while working closely with the international community, including Seoul and Washington.
The PM made the remarks in a policy speech Monday to the Japanese Diet.
Abe said he would be willing to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un... and will act decisively, so as not to lose an opportunity.
He added, Tokyo and Pyongyang need to (quote) "break the shell of mutual distrust," ... to resolve the issue of the regime's nuclear program and its abductions of Japanese citizens.
The Prime Minister however, did not comment on the relationship with South Korea,... unlike last year when he emphasized the cooperative partnership with Seoul.
