The 300C was conceived when Chrysler was partnered with Mercedes, and is based on the old E-Class. It looks and feels enormous, whether you opt for the saloon or estate version, and the styling is very distinctive, especially when compared to the Audi A6, Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series. The 300C can't match its rivals in the driving department, but the interior is comfortable and the soft ride is comfortable on longer journeys. The diesel engine is a better option than the thirsty V8 petrol model, an all models get high levels of standard equipment.

I was driving this car in the form of Lancia Thema and I fell in love with it. I am 185cm and I was very comfortable seating on the back seat, behind my seating position with plenty of head room and enough leg room. The car is ABSOLUTELY comfortable and very, very quiet both inside and on the outside. I was never sure if engine was running or not when standing outside of the car. I find it even more quiet then all the S classes and BMWs I was driving, of which there are many. It pulls great and performs well on sudden turns and twists and in bends. Absolutely lovely experience.

Excellent review as usual, and how refreshing to see somebody from the UK give a fair and unbiased review of a US car.

I commend Rebecca for giving this Big ol Chrysler a fair review. Most Europeans get real pissy when they review American cars. She seems to understand Americans use cars for different reasons than Europeans.

I'm shocked to see so many people Europeans bashing this car. I don't know if it is offered in Europe, but in America you can get the vehicle with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Now, also, I'm shocked they're bashing it because Fiat basically helped redesign the car to feel more European.

Also, I think the new Chryslers are very distinctive. Most European cars look the same to me; round on round. American cars have creases and actual curves.

While the 300 might have been bumped up in price a little, base for base it's still $13, 000 cheaper than an A6 and about $19, 000 cheaper than a 528i. If you load it up on the "C" luxury model, it's still about the same price as the base A6. And, at least here in the US, the 6-cylinder comes with Chrysler's new 8-speed auto as opposed to the antiquated and quite jarring 5-speed. The 300 is such a bargain compared to the German cars in my opinion.
