4 New York nursing homes accused of fraud, neglect

The owners and operators of four nursing homes in New York are facing a major lawsuit. Attorney General Letitia James is accusing them of fraud and neglecting residents. CBS New York investigative reporter Tim McNicholas reports.

This is happening ALL OVER the United States. My daughter worked in a nursing home for 6 months for a college course. She was told not to give the residents water even if they begged bc it just meant more diapers to change. She gave them water anywayz some residents were literally begging her for water. One man looked so dehydrated she gave him glass after glass. She also stayed to change him without pay bc she knew they'd let him sit in it. After her residency, she called the county. Prince George 's County in MD. This is a US problem, not just a NY problem.

Term care facility, GOOD FOR THEM! the shit that does down in these facilities is inexcusable! I know in my facility, we are strict about providing outstanding patient care to all residents, however the reality is staff is NOT paid enough and there are too few of us! I for one am leaving after my maternity leave because they pay me crap 😢

Don't assume all of these facilities are doing their jobs. Ask questions & report them when necessary. They use Medicaid as their American Express card

Yes this is true this is why it wasn’t Cuomo who killed these elderly ppl I worked in Beth Abraham’s for a day the bed sores the lady had were horrific they didn’t even want to help me assist the patient and came in saying she couldn’t eat as if she just needed to die! If they need a witness I’ll step up bc I’m sure she was not the only one!

Promesa nursing home in the Bronx, NY needs a make-over. They neglected my sister, and the staff was stealing her clothes. Shame on the nursing home that's out for profit and using the funds on themselves Cut them off until they get their act together.

had my mom home sometimes i changed her 10 times a night...we need to watch every care taker but we also have to pay them for the hardest job on this earth....this is a fact!...lets face it the kids wont take care of there loved ones so this is what they get.the only way to take care of this is a board of directors ASAP!....listen we are all 1 step away from this being us...think about it....very true!
