What is the difference between a Linear Function and an Exponential Function? This video will help you find the differences.

Linear Functions:
Grow by adding or subtracting,
Arithmetic Sequences are subsets
form a straight line
y=mx+b
constant slope = m
fixed y-intercept = b

Exponential Functions
Grow by multiplying or dividing
Geometric sequences are a subset
form a curved line
y = a(d)^2
changing slope
common factor / ration = d
fixed y-intercept = A

I don't think the numeric example given for the exponential is correct. I understand it to be quadratic growth because the multiplier is a constant of two. Exponential growth has an increasing multiplier, as in 2, 4, 16, 256.
