Your advice has helped me thoughtfully clear out some items in my closet. However there is something tactical, military-esque, and rugged masculine nature of cargo shorts that I can’t let go. As long as the other items that pair with it like shirt and shoes are nice I think this is one item to wear to show that you aren’t trying too hard to have a polished style.

I love your style thoughts. The only thing with the new chino shorts, is that they are to short. Some of us don't like the new shorts, not enough length. 😂

Cargo originally was for utility work Just like all workwears then suddenly being So it definitely will stay for utility purposes after trend dies.... Some old cargo is ugly but the modern one in uniqlo for example are good... Especially if you tailored made to measure....like my cargo....

In my opinion, should be worn for style. But if your working. Specifically, if you're gonna be on your knees, a lot or working in the environment where you close may be dirty.

Or even wearing cargo shorts during a
backyard barbecue. You don't want to mess up your chinos because you're handling the grill.

There's a time and a place for everything. So keep your cargo shorts and also keep your chinos handy.

I am going to use my cargo shorts in summer, I think they look good, as long as they are not too long or too wide or they really fill the pockets as if it were a back pack

In my experience the ladies like cargos on dates. You can then carry their stuff and they don't have to take a purse.

Oh C'MON. I love my cargos and have worn them for decades with ZERO shame. You are just jealous because all of your women's pockets can barely hold a roll of quarters. AND you carry a purse. I call mine saddlebags.

Cargos in general are horrible. Great idea but not practical. Need extra storage? Carry a bag or backpack. 🫶🏼
