From the stage in Camelot [with Richard Burton] to winning an Oscar for Mary Poppins to achieving world re-known, with The Sound of Music and carrying that legacy forward with films like Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Tamarind Seed, Victor-Victoria, there's no denying that Julie magically melted seamless into every character she essayed. A lot of her acting was subtext and emotions - what her characters were feeling and doing, rather than what they were saying.
