Few filmmakers can eviscerate social norms like Ruben Östlund. In his latest Palme d’Or-winning film, Triangle of Sadness, he brings his sharpest tool yet for the job. The Swedish director sat down with Q’s Tom Power at the Toronto International Film Festival to discuss the film, his fascination with social hierarchies and the economic value of beauty.

Using male
Models as a metaphor for transactional relationships is genius. He clearly knows the environment

Ruben is completely refreshing and I actually enjoyed him giving the spoiler for his next movie.

It actually intrigued me to keep a mental note of when it comes out to watch.

Looking forward to seeing more of his work &
May God Bless him and his family.

So, did Ruben get that from The Neon Demon (2016)? - "True beauty is the highest currency we have."

The interviewer has a poker face cause he can't really understand Ruben, it's so funny poor guy.

He considers himself as someone from "the rich part of the world", yet he won't pick up the bill... damn, Ruben...

I enjoyed the movie but the portrayal of the ultra wealthy is totally wrong and off the mark. I live in close proximity to very wealthy folks and I don’t recognize these people in the movie. The ultra rich are extremely guarded, reserved, inaccassible, and opaque. They would never go around talking about their wealth with strangers. They also don’t chat with people who serve them. They charter private yachts with their friends and family. This is totally unbelievable. It’s cartoonish. The real powerful rich are also extremely non extravagant in style. They see themselves as normal, even they are not. Hierarchy needs to be understood. The rich world is inpenetrable and much much darker.

If you don't like the movie and you happened to be a women, most likely is you are unwilling to admitt that girls can be very manipulated as the showcase in first chapter in the movie💀💀😹
