I find the bore oil sold as ‘Fret Doctor’ is the best cure for an over sanded neck - makes it play really nice.

Got mine and NOW I got something to say:
- Dark fretboard ✔
-Epiphone neck profile ✔
-3 Tone Sunburst ✔
-3 ply White aged pickguard ✔
-One heavy piece wood body ( Certainly is not NATO wood). Probably only the top is ash. The grain is like ash wood .... and is very hard ! ✔
-Alnico V pickups ✔
Neck: 5.8 kOhms ✔
Middle: 6.1 kOhms ✔
Bridge:6.8 kOhms ✔
-Thin/tall frets ✔
-NO skunk stripe ✔
-Big mass tremolo block ✔
-Vintage saddle strings ✔
-Vintage tuners ✔
-Sustain at the peghead right out of the box ! .... NO mods done yet!.
This is incredible on a guitar like this. The first thing I check on any guitar is how strong are the vibrations at the peghead. If it feels like a guitar strung with 13's with a G chord ... it has my attention.
-Perfect bone nut✔
-Wide fretboard ✔
-Cheap screws ( pickguard/tremolo cavity cover/etc )
-After a quick good intonation setup, everything is ok.
-When I was intonating, I noticed the "classic issue" with these kind of saddles: Screws are not reliable, they move and are not steadfast, any micro movement can break unwound strings. Here is asking for a mod to get things in place.
-I discovered the SRV custom neck attribute: Side marker dots are NOT in the fingerboard because they are just in the middle between the thin laurel fretboard AND the maple neck. I got a TELECASTER "custom" in the same way, THIN rosewood fretboard, just like a "custom fretboard veneer" and the frets are inserted on the maple neck. In my case, bad luthier job, in SRV's case, constant fret wear, In my SQR Strat CV 60's, an excellent feature !
Now the bad news: I got mine last week, never checked tremolo arm .... because was not set. After doing my review ... everything was perfect .... but something in my mind was round and round "Why in YouTube reviews .... these Squiers CV Strat 60's they never use the tremolo arm like any strat lover/fan does ???? ... NOW I now !!!! .... the hole of the block is not aligned with the bridge plate .... There's in only "half" hole. When I tried to set the tremolo arm, it was imposible the right way, then I noticed a 'vintage feature" that ONLY Squiers added recently, according to the guy at the store. Once the tremolo arm is "properly" inserted ( 30 degrees off ), you can feel there"s something wrong, I know, I'd bend the tremolo arm and that's it ... but at the end, the block would break because of the use of .... the trenolo arm.
All the time, tech guy said "Squiers have this offset hole. Fenders are different." .... then another guy checked the issue and said in 3 seconds " It's faulty, is not right .... please, go and take another guitar" .... so NOW I have a Squier Strat Classic Vibe 70's. All checked at the store with trenolo set this time.

I bought the 70s CV Stratocaster in natural finish a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! Have barely put it down, since I’ve been on vacation the last 3 weeks.

It’s a shame they took the finish off the neck, it looks really good with the tint. I was tempted to take scotchbrite to the neck to take away a bit of the gloss, but I didn’t need to since the neck wasn’t sticky like some gloss necks.

I posted a review on my channel if you’re interested.

Sanding off the neck finish is the first thing one of the Fender Custom shop master builder Ron Thorn said he'd do to the Squier Classic vibes to improve playability. Did it to my Jazzmaster, and the guitar really improved. The glossy (and sticky) coating is great, if you want to look at the neck. If you want to play it, it has to come off, though the person who did your guitar seems to have gone overboard. I just sanded mine to make the finish matte again. Still looks nice and plays like a million bucks.

Squiers are great, yes you can get well made, better specced guitars like Harley Benton which are arguably better value but Squiers have more appeal for me. The necks are more comfortable and the headstocks are the right shape
I have a standard series Telecaster that I've taken all over the world with me in the 16 years that I've had it and I recently got a VM HSS strat which is fantastic, I tried a player strat recently and it was nice but it didn't feel as nice as the VM.
I'm very tempted to get a 60's CV strat and 50's CV Tele, if you shop around you can get both for a hair over £600 which is ridiculous when you think about it.

This guitar is all kinds of dope! For the money too, it’s a great guitar to have before I can eventually afford the American made Strats.

I bought one and it was so bad I had to take it to a shop and have them set it up so it could be playable.
Also sharp fret edges, and now it seems to have a electrical short inside.
Maybe I got a lemon or am expecting to much.

What is that backing track ? I noticed the frusciante´s tone inmediatly ... but that song is not in my collection yet.

I have one 2nd hand from the 1st generation of CVs; a great guitar and even veteran musicians like my uncle asked, "Is it Squier from Japan?" 😄. Not it's not. He was impressed with the thick stratty tones. Never regret having a CV60s strat!

Awesome guitars these classic vibes. I sold my 60's with the tort guard to pay for an Eastman acoustic. But definately considering buying back one of these once the piggy bank is filled up again

Was seriously tempted by 1 of those in burgundy mist a couple year ago. Never did get it n now discontinued in that colour. Not sure I made right choice though not getting it.

Awesome stuff bro. That intro has to stay. Totally demonitized though. Fucken YouTube and copyright claims. Glad to see you pumping stuff out though.

Hello,
Congratulations on the beautiful tutorials on guitars and amps.

I wanted to ask you for advice:
I am fond of the Stratocaster sounds of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour.
I wanted to buy a Stratocaster with a price between 400 and 1100 euros. (CLASSIC VIBE 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 MOD - VINTERA 50/60 - VINTERA 50/60 MOD. - VINTERA 50/60 ROD WORN - AMERICAN PERFORMER).
Which of these models are closest to the timbres of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour.
I also like the idea of the humbuker in the bridge, since I get the clean sounds with the center and the neck.

I always follow you.
Best regards and happy holidays.

Bought a 60s CV in lake placid blue a week ago for my son but can't get my hands of it too ;-) Such a nice instrument for the price.
I know we don't really need a 2nd one but I'm thinking about getting another, maybe the 50s or 70s vesion... or maybe another 60s in red, they look awesome!
Or maybe even a Tele or any other Model from the CV range ...
What would you go for if you would get another CV?
