New pg-13 horror film M3GAN earned a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes....how? It's a good movie which it seems like most people are liking, but how did it get such a high school?

👍🏾M3GAN is the very best start of 2023 (January), fresh idea of a story we have waited to see (unlike the Child's Play franchise). A character we all love to have, and it's rare that a little to horror movie like M3GAN would be PG-13 (that's refreshing) and it is unbelievable how many love this movie now.

I definitely agree that M3gan provides something for both horror and nonhorror fans. I understand the criticisms from horror affectionatos about the lack of violence; however. I prefer suspenseful movies to blatant gore fests, which Is why I wouldn't have considered watching this movie had it been rated R Although the movie's take on the concept of AI running amok and the consequences of parents letting technology babysit children intrigued the sci-fi/fantasy lover in me when I saw the trailer, I initially wrote the movie off because I figured it was a slasher and gore doesn't scare or entertain me. I reconsidered when I heard it was more of a thriller mixed with comedy. Then I saw the movie and liked it. So it seems to me that paring the movie to a PG-13 rating and making it "middle ground" where people can only "slightly like" or "slightly hate" it (rendering it "fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes) was actually a very good marketing ploy.

That said, I heard that there might be an unrated/R-rated version and think it iwould be fine to also release that cut for those who really want to see the kills.

DrumDrus (Lee) talked about it in detail why he went negative on M3gan. He basically said he barely gave it negative and went with rotten almost on a whim. Rotten Tomatoes is not a perfect science, but it serves a purpose for sure. You are correct M3gan played all its cards right and all its cards safe, thus why the very positive score. It isn't that shocking when you think about it. Good and spot on insights. Sometimes giving folks exactly what you promised is far from a bad thing.

Actually, M3GAN does kind of have a social commentary on how technology is treated and the way we use technology. It's just not very powerful and the movie is just simply making the audience have fun.

Metacritic is more accurate, as it gives the average score of all the critic ratings. M3GAN has a 73 on metacritic.

I've heard it's a great time at the movies. There's scares and laughs. I would go watch this if comes to the theater where I live. Also, I hear that there is a rated R cut. It was originally meant to be R but was dialed back to appeal to a wider audience.

Rotten Tomatoes score has nothing to do with quality. Its all about how widely appealing it is. Meghan is perfectly average enough to kill an hour and half and not regret watching it.

I loved the movie. And it made me think, imagine if there was a Megan Vs Chucky movie. If Megan and Chucky were to get into a fight then Megan would defeat Chucky for sure. Chucky is just a doll that is possessed by a murderous human. But Megan is literally a killer robot. So Megan would win for sure

M3GAN is a solid horror movie for January, which proves we can get good films in January, It was made for 12 million and has grossed 56 million. It's another gem from Blum house, so I'm not surprised it has a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm sure the R-rated cut will only make it better.

So rotten tomatoes is just decent!! Everything everywhere all at once was insane tho!
