The tannins in the tea leaves are binding with larger molecules in your mead. The haziness goes away once the tannins have bound to the proteins floating around, which gives it the clear finish.

Other tannins that are used as "fining agents" are:

Gelatine
Isinglass
Egg white (egg albumen)
Casein
Skim milk

Hey i saw someone using ultrasound to age their alcohol. Instead of having to put spirits into barrels for years to get the aged taste?

You put used barrel chips in a jar, with the vodka, and then put the jar into an ultrasound machine for just 30 minutes! Well 30 minutes seemed like it gave the aame age as 3 years in a barrel.

You should try that with the stuff you make! It doesn't just have to be barrel chips either.
