A few words about this one...

This mix was inspired by Hammock's official video for "Tornado Warning, " which was shot in an area of Chicago I'm extremely familiar with. The loneliness of the shots combined with their music struck a chord in me, and I hunted for a photo of the city that reflected that.

I wasn't really sure where to go with this series. The first two installments were IMO not that good... there were too many changes in dynamics, I feel, like I was only following the rule of "songs that make me sad" and not considering how the mix itself would flow. So, I added some tracks that lean modern classical to this mix (hence the title) and broke my own unwritten rule about having the same artist featured more than once in the same video. Oh, well... they're the best, so it's alright.

This is a rough time of year for a lot of people, myself included. So please, if you're feeling low... don't hesitate to reach out and ask for help. There is absolutely no shame in doing so.

The first three songs make you feel like that your soul is getting crushed under a heavy weight of simultaneous void and responsibility but throughout the whole playlist you suddenly feel liberated from it the sensation of you floating and ascending kicks in. Amazing.

Been following since 2013. Waking Season by Caspian came out and was still blowing my mind, and then all of a sudden your videos started popping up and ive found countless artists that i love through this channel. The scenic backgrounds always caught my eye so I would always listen. This mix is is one of the best, i keep coming back to it. You've done extremely well for the ambient and post rock community.
