How to get more Scouts in Assassin's Creed Shadows

If you've been thinking that Assassin's Creed Shadows would be easier if you could work out how to get more scouts, you'd be correct. However, the game doesn't go out of its way to explain how to increase your scout number. There are two parts to this one though, with the first being what to do when you run out of scouts and the second being how to get more of them to start with.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is the feudal Japan entry in the series and sees you playing as Naoe to begin with. It soon expands, but it takes a while for Yasuke to get in on the action. It's a slow burn, so it's going to be interesting to see if it can deliver the kind of impact that Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Odyssey did, as well as Mirage to a lesser extent. The biggest difference is the lack of well-known landscape and architectural features that have made the other games so interesting. I'm still exploring, so it's possible that there might be more to Assassin's Creed Shadows as you progress.
