I'm Checking in from Fire Decimated Los Angeles

Many areas of Los Angeles have been decimated by forest fires over the last couple days. Last year, Southern California experienced twice the amount of rainfall as we would get in a single year. And then it has been bone dry for almost the last nine months. In the coastal areas, vegetation grows every spring, dries out over summer, and comes back again the following year. Are unusual, strong winds the past couple days took all this fuel and just exploded.

The displacement of people from their homes is unfathomable. Many shelters have been established and are filling up quickly.

Hills that I have hiked and roads that I have bicycled my entire life have been decimated. Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu and Pacific Palisades, Topanga Canyon, Eaton Canyon, and Runyon Canyon are all historic and iconic places in the southland. We have lost many of these icons.

If you'd like to help out, I will put some resources in the comment section below.

Thank you. 🙏 Definitely not just movie stars, with the multiple fires. It is affecting every socio-economic class. I already have friends who have lost everything. 😢 This is so unreal.
