this video is great, that man teach us how to use resistor, from the colour code, god and interesting video

thanks for this video series! very informative for a noob. Do you think you could do a vid with maybe a resister, diode, pot, led, and battery so we could see how they all fit together?

Can a resistor fail and go short-circuit?

does it heat up or melt if you were to put say 2 or 3 of those battery packs through the resistor for that little led?

@kellerj0 Yes, I have some ideas in mind, I hope to get them out to you soon! I will do a building a power supply from scratch next, it will have the essentials, transformer, diode, resistor, and capacitor. Easy and cool stuff.

I'm trying to figure out how to line up a circuit for 12vdc at 1.0 amp, and I came up with 12 ohm resistor for it, but 1 amp is more than 1/4 watt. What do we do if we want to push 1 amp?

hello, just curious question you see the k and the m can you think of them as kila bytes and mega bytes

Can you reverse them to increase the energy

Resistors are non polarized so it does not matter which way you put them in

Could someone help me on this one would these be correct
4R7 = 4.7 Ohms
47R = 47 Ohms
470R = 470 Ohms
1K = 1000 Ohms
1K2 = 1200 Ohms
1M = ohms Etc.

Why do you need risitor in a circuit?

Jackvue

so what you need to do the opposite? like i took the backlight from a ds lite and there are like 4 leds, so when i solder the wire to 1 led it works but when i try to turn all  4 leds at once none of the work, please help

Hi, when a current enters the resistor does it decrease the amount of electrons and we get
less electrons comes out of resistor (at the other end) OR it (resistor) decreases the speed
of electrons and we get slower electrons coming out from the other end of the resistor?
Also when we say that 2A is going through resister R, does that mean before entering the resister or after the resister?
Please help

My autos teacher sucks at the actual teaching, so this helped a lot thanks

and yeah, I have subbed and I hope to see more from you :)

Sure but the wattage may be important too, use replacement resistors that have equal or higher wattage rating. For instance if the resistor is a 1/4 watt don't replace with a 1/8 watt or it could possibly get hot and burn out.

ah wish ive gotten to your video sonner i spent a good 30 searching on youtube making sure i was "installing" the resistor the right way lol
