When I was growing up in the sixties, I remember we had a toilet roll holder such as you describe but it had such a strong spring on it it would nearly take your finders off when you tried to change the toilet roll! Your bathroom looks so much better now, you must be so much happier with it.

Suggestion: Bleach your shower tile grout and paint it with your wall paint or grout paint. Will make it look brand new.

Allison I Agree About The Toilet Paper Holder

I will take a more complicated toilet roll holder if I can grab the toilet paper with on hand while using it. I do a quick pull and if there is any extra give to the toilet paper roll it will either tip (if a standing toilet roll holder) or unroll half the roll and I then have to use both hands.

Anyway. Looks great! We're about to do a similar "first phase" over our bathroom.
