Boss: *slightly sidesteps*
People who use this tactic: well I guess I'll die then.

This is insane, that's why I always beat the game for the first time with "normal" builds, and then try the magic ones

From soft: in Eldon ring we wanted to make weapon arts feel powerful, and unique. So we buffed the hell out of sorceries and miracles.

For those wondering, this doesnt need a nerf

9 times out of 10 the boss can easily just move away and avoid damage, leaving you open to an attack

With this build of infinite mana. Just go full intelligence and you’re good

This is a best case scenario. This spell (in past games at least) was cant finish the cast bc no room or whatever your casting at moves slightly and you miss anyway. Glad in finally does Kame hame ha damage tho

Legitimately just dragon ball dat boss out of existence with a kamehameha wave

Let me tell you, as a pure mage player, getting to this point is extremely hard. You’re pumping over 40 straight levels into pure int with no extra focus for casts or health to not die. You will work through many boss fights where you have to play them flawlessly because getting hit once is death. And even using meteorite staff with rock throw from the start, you will still inevitably get hit and it’s back to your last grace. Yeah, this does insane damage. It does that because you ignore literally everything to do pure damage, and it can STILL MISS. And you can’t even use a 100% block shield, because you don’t have the strength to use one.

People calling it OP and busted are only seeing from the perspective of after all the hard work was done and in the perfect situation, used on a boss that’s generally just easy to kill.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but a spell as visually stunning as that, and one that leaves you so sold, should be broken, at least in pve. It would be bad if it wasn't.

Imagine paying full price in a game, playing the hell out of it, making a fun build, making a video about it to show others something different than the usual spam B spam RB, for some random dude that played 2 hours into Ds 3 and uninstalled come in the comments to say "mAgE iS eAsY"

This looks amazing, but considering the requirement of 60 int, the long cast time, and nearly zero tracking, it's appropriate. Almost no boss will get hit by this unless they are distracted by a Summoned Spirit, and many other builds can deal comparable damage against a boss that has it's back turned. Try to hit an aggressive boss like Misbegotten Warrior or even the Grafted Scion with it when you have no Spirit Ash summoned haha.

My main complaint is that with every have decent Sorcery 10 more are completely useless ass with horrendous FP efficiency, it's at the point where the basic Glintstone Pebble out does most spells all the way until late game. Compare the Pebble to the Greatblade Phalanx and see which is superior lol. Or compare the Pebble to Loretta's Mastery, an amazing looking long charging magic bow with 4 bolts, and costs around 50 fp. The Pebble FAR outdoes it.

There are some good spells with strong niches, like the Carian Slicer, but even top tier spells like that are well balanced around certain weaknesses, such as having no associated moveset (No strong attacks, Guard Counters etc).

In fact, as a Spellblade the Moonveil is so good with pretty much no weaknesses that it can potentially obsolete the close range spells.

Don't say it's broken. I don't want them to nerf it. Lol

This is

And there is nothing Wrong with that. If any player is clever enough to come up with this or balsy enough to twink for it, they earned it. Games with broken mechanics are fun.

Seriously, I am reminded of that one salty Spartan bragging about the nobility of his army after they got turned to pincushions by some Athenian archers.

Like others are saying, this is a best case scenario. You do this to most bosses and they smack you immediately.

i can’t wait for my next playthrough as astrologer, my paladin build is nice but going to the academy will be the highlight of my magic character

Works as intended.
Bosses are meant to be "one shotted".
