Priyanka Gandhi's Mission Mahila: 40% Congress Tickets In Uttar Pradesh Pledged To Women

The Congress on Tuesday announced that it will give 40 per cent of party tickets to women candidates in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections scheduled early next year. This was announced by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who is the party incharge for Uttar Pradesh and is leading the efforts to revive the party in the state. "The decision has been taken to change the course of Indian Politics. It is for all the women who have inspired me through," Priyanka said, adding, she wanted to reserve 50 per cent of tickets for women.

Can it helped Congress win more seats by filling 40%women candidate that too in India and especially UP where there is large gap in gender equality. Even though this step is a strong lift up for women empowerment. But I think the time is too early for Indian UP voters to appreciate, so Congress may lose the elections.
