Lysosome structure and function - This lecture explains about the structure and function of Lysosome. Lysosome is filled with hydrolyzing enzymes that helps in the release of protease enzymes inside the cell. Lysosome helps to kill digested organisms after phagocytosis and it is also responsible for cell death by autophagy.

5:27 *autophapy* is the digestion of cells own unwanted organelles..
For example if someone exercises or does physical work .. the number of mitochondria would increase in the muscle cell .. whereas when exercise is stopped the number of mitchondria decrease to the normal number .. this happens by autophagy..
*Autolysis* is the programmed death of a cell.. in this process the lysosome bursts an all of its content disperses throughout the cell cytoplasm the cell is then broken down to fragments and these fragments are phagocytosed by other cells .. because of this lysosomal property lysosome are also called *suicidal bags* because the entire cell is destroyed/killed (lol) by lysosome ...
The difference between autophapy and autolysis is that autophagy is digestion of cells organelles while autolysis is entire cell's digestion..
