If you are fitting the dash cam power cable round the side of the windscreen and side pillar, check to see if you have an airbag in the pillar, if you have an airbag, then try to avoid blocking the side curtain airbag. If unsure contact a professional installer for advise or to install.

I believe that dash cams are only allowed on practical tests if it only records what's happening outside the car and the sound is switched off.
