In Greek mythology, Poseidon literally had a son called Triton. Also both Zeus and Poseidon were sons of Kronos.

Correction on the Ariel thing:
Yes, Ariel is related to Hercules, but its not because Triton and Zeus are brothers, its because Zeus and Poseidon brothers. Triton is Poseidon as son, which makes Ariel Poseidon's granddaughter. Hercules and Triton would be cousins and Hercules be cousins with Ariel as well I believe, so the end result is the same but the family tree they got incorrect.

Zeus was the father of Heracles. And Zeus had a brother named Poseidon who is the father of Triton. That makes Trition and Heracles first cousins, and since Trition is the father of Ariel, Heracles is SECOND cousins with Ariel.
