A door plug detaches from the aircraft in midair, leaving a gaping hole on the side of the plane, and none of the aircrew thought to notify the captain before they landed?!

How exactly should the pilot have known what type of damage the aircraft had suffered? After an explosive decompression I don't think he had the time to go back and start an comprehensive investigation while his co-pilot is landing the plane.

You absolutely should never step on an airplane ever again. It's not just Boeing. It's the airlines, the maintenance crews, everyone involved is falling in competency. The entire infrastructure of the country is at risk because we keep hiring dramatically under-qualified people to fill slots.
