As per the sources africa is not splitting into two countries, but the African continent is slowly splitting into two separate tectonic plates along the East African Rift, which is a geological fault system that extends for thousands of kilometers. This process is known as continental rifting and has been happening for millions of years. While the rifting process may eventually lead to the formation of new ocean basins and the separation of the African continent into two separate land masses, it is a very slow geological process that is not expected to happen anytime soon, on a human timescale.
