Always a great video John. Being unable to get there myself, it's heartening to know we'll be getting in-depth content from you! That Kronos is VERY exciting.

I'm looking forward to Namm this year too. Really want to check out the Nord organ 3. For months I have not found a C2D anywhere reasonable priced. So soon as it was announced I placed an order for one ($4k) from Sweetwater. They're due to be shipped out around summer time.
Also I use the Kronos 2 as my primary board and controller in the studio. So Im stoked Korg will have updates for it.
Love your views and videos of whats going on. Keep em coming.

Wait Yamaha is making a new YC keyboard ? Hopefully it will be a competitor to the Nord Stage series. I really hope more brands get serious into the Stage keyboard market. It's a great market to make boards that avoid less menu diving and direct access to sounds and playability

I am a Korg Kronos2 88 Keys owner. I purchased it maybe 5 or 6 year ago. I like that I'll have access to the new KK3 sounds in about 6 months. However.what I'm really thrilled about is now I feel that my Kronos2 will be will be able to be repaired if something really goes wrong with it. There was a lot of talk in the Kronos-owners community about parts availability if Korg was no longer manufacturing the Kronos. I didn't want to be stuck with a $3, 800 doorstop if mine died. I'm not even a gigging musician but I have witnessed the "Unable to Boot" error message on more than a few occasions. Fortunately, thanks to the community, I know how to fix that issue. But anything more serious than that I'd need to take it a professional. So, I'm prayerful that getting parts will not be an issue.

I have the Kronos 2 Limited edition . It has the Italian pianos and other additions that aren't on regular versions. Now I will have to update to the new sounds.

Agree with you TOTALLY with EVERYTHING you said about the Nautilus. Way back when I remember getting so excited about Korg saying that they were getting a new successor to the Kronos, only to find out that it would be Nautilus and I was thinking The Nautilus to me was like what Korg did when they released the M50 after the M3 (before the Kronos). A lot of people are saying in the comments 'oh why are they re-releasing the Kronos. It's a 14 year old board', and to each their own don't get me wrong but in my opinion, I say, why the hell not. This Kronos 3 to me, is for people who did NOT have a chance to get the original Kronos or Kronos 2 before they were discontinued. Will have to wait and see though about the full specs closer to release, but for me, I really want to get this keyboard. I love the idea of hands on controls and not whatever the hell the Nautilus was. It's just so limiting by comparison.

Great video, in regard to the Kronos I happen to snag a Titanium version just before the announcement that it was being replaced per se and I still have it but because Kronos got replaced with Nautilus as the Korg flagship, I played on it less because I was afraid if I broke it, it would be harder to get. So, I picked up a Korg Nautilus 61 keys as the playing Korg and frankly I wasn't as happy besides the price point with it as it seemed not as well built or features as the Kronos. Plus, when I got my Nautilus, I missed that it was without aftertouch, which became a issue for me the more I played with the Nautilus. As long as the Kronos 3 has the same build quality and features as the previous Kronos, you should be surprised how different it is even to the Nautilus AT.

Still have the original Kronos. Being able to purchase the new stock sounds would be nice. I do use more computer/Mainstage rig now, most stuff in the box, but there's just something about the workstation keyboard

I am taking a step back the Nord Stage 4 and Montage M8X has the ability to pull up all the sounds on laptop or touch screen monitor you can't do this on the Roland V Stage. With the Nord stage 4 connects to Nord Sound Manager 9.10 on your laptop which allows you to move sound banks around bundle and unbundle from your laptop. On the montage M8X and MODX+ it allows to bring your screen up on your laptop or external monitor which is a game changer for me.

Omg this made my LIFE. I am still using my Triton Extreme because I refuse to upgrade to the Nautilus or buy one of those crappy Roland Fantoms. But, I would be wrong not to point out that these companies are all now allergic to actually paying engineers to create new era-defining equipment. It looks like the new hot product is the old hot product for now.

It would be cool if they added another sound engine to the kronos

I can imagine Korg doing a Kronos/Nautilus tick-tock thing: most who want a Kronos 3 will grab them in the early days after release, then there's market saturation. Then some of the improvements can be carried into another cost-reduced Kronos-lite aka Nautilus. But if the Kronos 2 was selling well enough, they wouldn't have done a cost-reduced version (aka Nautilus).

I got a Fantom 8 and love it for all the right reasons..😊..But, if roland is coming onbaord to challenge the great Nord, they better leave that "Modeled" sound technic behind and go into the "Sampled" route....

Hello, good channel and I’ve not watched all the video yet. Many years ago, I owned a Korg i3 and yes, it was very good though not the most user-friendly. I’m hoping Korg are more user-friendly nowadays and what I’m wondering, like the Korg i3, does the 16 track midi sequencer allow you to copy and paste measures of each individual track for instance, if you’re creating a drum track, bass track with so many measures, can you then copy these measures and paste them rather than having to record an entire track all the way through?

Roland had the vr 760 in the early 2000 which had the vk organ the rd pianos and a synth engine that held srx cards I still have it and it gives nord vibes

I’ve never gotten into the Kronos, but if that vector stick means that the Kronos includes a full Wavestate, Modwave, & Opsix bye bye to my NP5.
