The Samurai and the fine arts of Japan // Die Samurai und die schönen Künste Japans

The Samurai. A social class of the historical Japan especially glorified by Hollywood. The IFICAH Foundation presented an exhibition in its Museum for Asian Culture in 2019, which showed, based on the presented objects, the Samurai from an unknown perspective for most of the visitors. The myth of the strong warrior was extended with insights into the Japanese culture which would have not developed in these characteristics without the influence of the nobility at that time.

//Die Samurai. Eine vor allem auch durch Hollywood verklärte Gesellschaftsschicht im historischen Japan. Die Stiftung IFICAH präsentierte 2019 in ihrem Museum für Asiatische Kultur eine Ausstellung, welche anhand der gezeigten Objekte die Geschichte der Samurai in ein Licht rückte, das den meisten Besuchern wohl unbekannt war. Der Mythos vom starken Krieger wurde erweitert durch Einblicke in die japanische Kultur, welche sich ohne den Einfluss der damaligen Adelsschicht nicht in dieser Ausprägung hätte entwickeln können.
