HELLO FRIENDS!! So, the internet loves croissants. And, coincidentally, so do I. So after falling down a cronut hole of croissant content - I decided, I needed to make some frickin croissants. And surprisingly, Black Box Bakery in Denver agreed to take me on as a pastry apprentice! Not only did I get a high-altitude pastry bootcamp - learning how to laminate my own dough, and roll my own classic croissants - but I also got to create my own custom, semi-goth, cream-filled croissant CUBE - that you can actually try at Black Box Bakery if you go there in person!! What do you think? Beetlejuice or beetleJUICY?

(this video is NOT sponsored by Black Box Bakery and we are not receiving any portion of their sales - they are just a cool small business we love!)

What i love about Safiya is that she goes to these business as playfully as she can, but when it's time to work, she follows every instruction and isn't there just to mess up their work or to bother them. She actually wants to learn and inform people around her; she's respectful, goofy and promotes small businesses the best way possible. This is what makes everything so much more enjoyable and fun

I always love these Safiya and Tyler learning different trades. It a great mix of "How It's Made" and "Dinners, Drive-ins, and Dives".

If anyone in the comments EVER complains about you posting fewer videos: girl, please never listen. You make such long, quality videos, it's worth waiting for them with how in-depth and informative and fun they are. For me (and probably for other people), it's like waiting for movies to premiere. Except the movie is a surprise, so it's even cooler. Keep on keeping on.

Its nice to see that Ariel is really shown as a Baker not a content creator. It's especially refreshing to not see her fake an over the top reaction for the vid and just say "yeah, looks good" "mmhm" "not yet"

Safiya is one of the few YouTubers left from what i have personally deemed as the golden era of creator content. Please please please never stop unless you’re offered a television show bc you deserve it. Your content is such a comfort zone. ❤

At this point, Safiya has more jobs than Barbie! And she deserves all of them!

I appreciate the space between these videos can you imagine all the work that went into this? Travel planning, bakery partnership negotiations, actual travel, staff coordination, scripting, editing…. God. Also did the bakery have to shut for two days for this, did THEY promote it?! Like wild. All for us to have a cute hilarious video of Saf making cwossaints.

35:28 "There's so many ways you can mess up and she didn't" 👏👏👏 that's why i love Saf, she's funny yet respectful. They might just want her to be there just to promote their business, not much expectation but then proceed to teach her the whole thing and have fun with her 😍😍

The Wallace and Gromit reference!!! I can't express how much I love all your little callbacks and references and inside jokes, especially the food network references. Also the enthusiasm and love and respect you have for everything you do and everyone you collaborate with, your videos are a joy 🖤🖤🖤

a fake-sushi crube would be soooo fun. you could do a green cream for wasabi, little round candies for roe, and cookie crumbles for those crunchy bits.

Props to her for having the bravery to make croissants because I have friends who've made them and they swore never again

When in culinary school for Patisserie and Baking, part of the first courses is to whisk your Whipped Cream by hand. So in a way, yes, it is a kind of hazing but also to make you appreciate how Bakers have been doing it for decades before Mixers, aside from present day Bakeries that don't have the Machines/Machines that break down.

I think using the dough scraps for the black stripe was probably the main issue. Because the dough wasn't made black from the start, trying to incorporate the color into already mixed dough meant it ended up getting overly mixed, so it got chewy and stretchy. It didn't quite fluff up the way the rest of the dough did.

I love when Saf features small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and they're often run by family or passionate individuals! Black Box Bakery looks so cool--thank you for showcasing it!

as a french person I'm always amazed at how crazy imaginative people from other countries got with croissants. Like in France you'll never see a croissant cube or a croffle or anything like this haha (or maybe in like specialized bakeries you can only find in big cities) but nothing beat the taste of the og croissant for me

Why am I crushing on the croissant baker? LMAO. This video was super fun to watch. Croissaints are so yummy, my favorite ones are from a local donut shop. Now I get to see all the work that goes into them.

It's wild to think I found her videos at like 13/14 and now I'm going on 20 and still watching her. The production of her videos is always amazing.
