I can’t imagine how long the Joker was waiting to kill that therapist in particular. The Joker, while insane, somehow fully understands his insanity and knows exactly who he is as a person. He probably hated that guy for trying to rationalize his completely irrational thoughts.

The scary thing about the therapist is there are people like him. People often want to blame everyone and everything EXCEPT the killer, and if they had their way, would put people in dangerous situations like this all the time just to try and prove themselves right. Think about it, remember that guy who shot up a theater while dressed as Joker? And how when the Joker movie came out everyone claimed it would inspire more shooters? Or the "Slenderman stabbing" where news outlets started outright acting as if the Slenderman fandom was corrupting the kiddies and turning them into murderers, ignoring the fact no other members of the fandom ever attempted murder? Or the Columbine shootings being blamed on video games and bullying, despite the majority of bullying victims and video game players not going out and murdering people? Heck, the story does a good job covering how the media likes to blame all violent actions on whatever the new controversial thing is, claiming several crimes were "Batman Inspired" and giving guys like this quack therapist the opportunity to spread his bullcrap opinions and pass them off as fact.
