Agatha All Along: Rio Vidal Backstory Explained

In the first episode of the new Marvel Television series Agatha All Along, we are introduced to the character Rio Vidal, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza. Rio is new to both the MCU and audiences in general, as she is an original character that doesn’t appear in Marvel comics. During their confrontation, it’s revealed that Agatha Harkness can’t kill Rio Vidal. But why is this the case? And what is this mysterious witch’s history? I feel a sexual tension between Agatha & Rio Vidal. I feel like they were once in a relationship, made some type of bond or signed some type of contract together, (maybe even with Mephisto) & part of that bond was that it would be forbidden for either one of them to betray the other, but Agatha found a loophole & "duped the devil."
